Linkin Park is officially back, marking their return with a new lineup and an album titled From Zero, set to release on November 15. This comes seven years after the tragic death of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017. The band has announced that Emily Armstrong, frontwoman of Dead Sara, will join as their new vocalist, alongside longtime member Mike Shinoda. Colin Brittain, a producer known for his work with Papa Roach, is stepping in as their new drummer, replacing Rob Bourdon.
Shinoda, who co-founded the band with Bourdon and Brad Delson, explained Bourdon’s decision to step away from the band: “Rob wanted to put some distance between himself and the band,” Shinoda shared with Billboard. “As a friend, it was sad, but we respect his choice and wish him the best.”
Linkin Park has already debuted a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” and plans to embark on the From Zero World Tour starting this month. Major stops include Los Angeles, New York, London, Seoul, and Hamburg, with more to follow. The new album title From Zero is a nod to their origins, referencing their early name, Xero.
This will be the band’s first release of original material since 2017’s One More Light, which came out shortly before Bennington’s passing. Following his death, Linkin Park held a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl and has since taken a hiatus, focusing on rereleases and retrospectives. Their upcoming tour and album mark a significant new chapter for the Grammy-winning rock band, whose iconic hits like “In the End” and “Numb” continue to resonate with fans worldwide.
