Katy Perry Surprised to Learn Fiancé Orlando Bloom Has a Star on the Walk of Fame: ‘Where?!’

Orlando Bloom may be a global movie star, but his fiancée Katy Perry was taken aback to discover he has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During a recent interview on KOST 103.5 with host Ellen K, Perry’s genuine surprise and humor stole the show.

“Woah! Orlando Bloom… wait, he has a star? When did this happen?” Perry asked, half-joking but clearly shocked. The interview took an amusing turn as Ellen K responded, “You didn’t know he had a star?” Perry quickly replied, “We’ve never gone and visited it!”

Bloom’s star is located on one of the most iconic stretches of Hollywood Boulevard, right in front of Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum and the TCL Chinese Theatre. This revelation seemed to take Perry by surprise again, prompting her to humorously ask, “Is he a big deal?” before acknowledging her fiancé’s humility. “I didn’t know there was an actual star, just handprints. What a humble man.”

The British actor, best known for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lord of the Rings, was awarded the star back in 2014—two years before he and Perry began dating. The ceremony included notable attendees like Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer, actor Forest Whitaker, and Bloom’s son Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

For Perry, who just performed a 10-song medley while accepting the Video Vanguard Award at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, the gap in knowledge is understandable. Despite her own impressive achievements, including five No. 1 singles from a single album and 13 Grammy nominations, Perry has yet to receive a star on the Walk of Fame herself. However, she’s no stranger to the tradition, having introduced Minnie Mouse for her star in 2018 and presenting Capitol Records with a star in 2016.

Perry and Bloom, who welcomed their first child, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020, are known for their joint work as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors. Their baby announcement was made through UNICEF, promoting donations for maternal healthcare.

As Perry steps away from her American Idol judging duties after seven seasons, she and Bloom continue to navigate their careers and family life, with plenty of humor and love along the way.
